The Center Of Everything

I’ve been reading this novel at night. I got this novel from the library so no time for my procrastination attitude about reading this. I have to determine to read this before the due date, just so I can borrow more. Although I can extend the book online but really don’t want to do it.

I’m so glad I am through reading this, ”The Center of Everything by Laura Moriarty”. This novel is well written and heartwarming. This is about the 10 year old girl that lives in Kansas, named Evelyn Bucknow. She is hardworking, studious, smart girl. She thinks Kansas is at the center of everything.

Evelyn is the daughter out of wedlock. Her father ran off before she was born and her mother is trying desperately to hold their lives together but she has a lot of pride that brings her into trouble. Things get more complicated when Evelyn's mother loses her job and car, and then, déjà vu, bring another child into this world. She got pregnant again certainly, the mother is not thinking right especially she is unable to hold her own life together. But she loves her children in anyway. Evelyn’s grandmother loves her so dearly and helps her and teaches good things.

I thoroughly enjoyed the novel and I believe this is worth reading. I recommend this book especially for the teens. This book will give a lot of lessons in reality. Now days a lot of mothers they give up easily and they turn in their child to foster care/adoption or worse, they have an abortion.

I think abortion is not right thing to do and to give up your child in any circumstances unless you’re dying. Being poor is not really the issue here, certainly not the reason to give up. This novel is very uplifting. You’ll see the saddest and the happiest moments. “This Center of Everything” is not a waste of time to read.
