Trip to Philippines...

I'm so happy to be back home with Chris. The plane landed at 8:15pm in San Francisco last August 7th and that was the day Chris and I is our 4th wedding Anniversary. Mom was right to say traveling is not the best way to celebrate wedding Anniversary but being home that day was the best part and cause happiness for both of us. I was very happy to see my family in Philippines again... I was crying for joy when the plane was about to land in Manila airport. I was very excited to see my sisters and nieces waiting for me and Casey at the airport. I can't really express how I felt that day when we landed to Manila. We landed in Centennial airport around 6am in the morning and when we got off the plane, I have to remove Casey's sweater since my daughter's started to sweat,. and I was too! Casey started to get grumpy while waiting for our baggage but when we finally got out of the immigration and see my family, I handed them Casey because I know they are very excited to cuddle and hug her. Casey was fine on our first day in the Philippines. But when we went to Calbayog, she was always grumpy and want mommy only. She don't let my brother's or sisters touch her. She was sweating a lot and she always ask for water. The trip to Philippines was great except my daughter was not doing well. She was sick and refuse to eat and I have to take her to the doctor. We went to see the doctor on July 26 and she had lost 5 pounds. Before we went to Philippines. we see her regular doctor to find out what Casey need for the trip and she weighed 28 pounds. But when we saw the doctor in the Philippines she weighed 23 pounds. The doctor prescribed Paracetamol for her fever, Dimetapp for her cold and ascorbic acid. She was coughing too. The day after she started to have diarrhea and I am more worried and wanted to be home early in California because she wasn't doing very well and refused to eat. She ate some but very little and she keep having diarrhea. And I was concerned about it and one of my brothers suggest if she still lose more weight then I have to give her dextrose. I think that is the best thing to do since she is not eating. She was asking for grapes when she saw the lemon trees at my brother house, she called it grapes. I thought of buying grapes, the green seedless kind, but unfortunately there were no green grapes in Calbayog. She was eating mango but not a lot. I think it's not really good to travel with kids at a very young age. I enjoyed some of my trip but I end up counting the days in going back home (California). Casey was homesick and she was looking for her daddy and when we were in Manila airport she wanted to see her Lola and Zachary (her cousin). I was hurt when she asked me for her daddy. She keeps saying she want to see daddy and want to ride in daddy's truck and no more plane...it's so sad for me to know and realized how Casey sad not to see her daddy. But she saw lot's of new people around her everyday. My family was very happy to meet Casey and they love Casey's eyes, hair and the white skin of Casey! When we go out, people always have to ask me if she is American because her skin is white. I was very proud and happy when they said my daughter is a beautiful little girl!
There was one time we went to see visit the school of Casey's first cousin Vince. When she saw the pupils outside playing, she run near them and she started talking and she was enjoying the visit. One thing I had noticed, she only want to talk with the kids, not any adults except Mommy. I've been carrying her all the time. Every time we go out and we always went to the market with my sisters. When she buy fish, she was having a good day at the market especially when the fish vendor tried to give her the big fish (he he he)
Casey loves the mango, riding the motorcycle and riding tricycle and talking to the kids! that's all the stuff she enjoy and also the rain. At first she was scared of the rain but since it always rain there, she saw it almost everyday then she appreciate it. I think Casey got sick because of the weather. In the morning, till noon, it is hot and suddenly, it will rain and then it will stop and become hot again....the weather always kept changing. Anyway, one lesson I've learned. is not to travel with very young children and should wait until the kids reach to 5 or 7 years old, I think. I enjoyed the food and being with the family again. Anyway, we're back home and Casey has no fever and she is back to eating. I was surprised that she drink a lot of milk. She keep asking for milk. First time I saw Casey drink a lot milk. More than her usual but that is fine and milk is good for her and she ate cheerios and no diarrhea. She still has a cold and share it to her daddy. She loves her daddy so much and she have to share it with her daddy. I was sick when I was in Philippines too, I have fever and lose my voice for 3 days, I am guessing it is because I've been drinking lots of cold water with plenty of ice in it. On this trip we have, it is not the best one, we got sick and my brother just died but the best part is seeing my family and they were able to meet my daughter. I spent most of my time with my family on this trip. A lot of friends of mine invited me to visit but I decided to just be with the family this time since I am not sure when will be able to see them again.

July 26, 2007-Casey at Calbayog Market...

Casey and I went to market with my sisters on the 26th of July and Casey was enjoying touching the all kinds of fish that was in the market and she was touching the tomatoes all the veggies that's in there. Every time we go out at least 1 or 2 persons will ask if Casey is American. We went back to market again on July 28th and some people that's in there remember Casey and they call Casey American girl. One woman handed a big fish to Casey, as I remember it was big "turingan". I don't know how I call it in English. People were enjoying watching Casey touching the fish. Casey was so friendly to them and she even responds to them bye bye!
