Archive for May 2008 My schooling is over, just had final my exam last night. I was surprised when my Professor called my name for recognition as giving the best presentation in the class and never absent for the mixer. I was hesitant to stand up because I wasn’t sure if it was really my name the Professor was calling. She gave presents to those names being called…yehey! Anyway, I am so glad to be able to finish my English class. I was planning to take grammar this summer but there’s no evening class open yet. And also I am considering taking early childhood (Lord Permit). I am hoping to volunteer for the Sunday school at Sun River church, close to where I live. I went there last Sunday to get the volunteer application. The person I talked with said that I can do volunteer every Sunday or Wednesday and if I want and I can help with VBS too. It’s my choice! We’ll see after I submit my application. I would love to do this. I want to be involved again in the children ministry. And the best part here is, Casey will be able to join them for free. She'll be able to meet new friends. I want her to meet lots of friends and not just stay home and be bored. And she can also join the VBS. I used to do this when I was in the Philippines. I miss being active and useful in the church.
For right now, I just want to relax at home and take
care of my beautiful princess “langa”. Now that I’m not working
and I finished my school, I am
able to join the Moms group regularly and of course the
potlucks! I am so excited to attend this coming potluck
get-together. Casey and I will be in Funderland tomorrow with
the Rancho Cordova cradles to crayon group. I’m so happy to
belong
Pacific Rim Festival
We went to Woodland for a day out with Thomas. Thomas, the tank engine visited Woodland all the way from the Island of Sodor. Thomas is Casey's favorite engine! We got free tattoos with our favorite engine. Chris got his Gordon tattoo and I got my Percy tattoo. And of course Casey got her tattoos of her favorite engine, Thomas on her face and arm. We rode on Thomas. Casey was very happy about it. It was a dream came true for her. Train, buses and light rails are her fascination. She was thrilled to be on Thomas the train and she was confused what to do the moment she saw Thomas. The long wait was worth it, she finally met Sir Topham Hatt. She had to touch the hands of Topham Hatt. I can see Casey's excitement when she was close to him for pictures. We had a wonderful time there in Woodland except the weather was very hot! Here are the Photos from our trip to Woodland.
Pacific Rim Festival We were off to downtown Sacramento last Sunday (5/18) for Pacific Rim festival. It was a hot sunny day. We got there almost 1pm. We took the light rail to get there as we promised this to Casey. This was our first time to be on light rail. I was surprised to know that Chris hadn't been on light rail before. Anyway, we didn't enjoy much on festival, not much to see. We just spent there about an hour. Merry-go-round with Daddy...one ride before going home. At the light rail station... We were waiting for the light rail. I took a few photos of Casey riding in her bike. We brought her bike with us. This is really helpful. We didn't have to carry her all the time. She was enjoying her bike too much but not her helmet. She was complaining about it when she was wearing it at the festival, I guess because of the heat. It's too hot for her head. On a board...there she is, Casey was enjoying the view outside Here comes the diesel 10...lol Two days ago, Casey and I did a picnic just here outside the apartment. The original plan was just to play outside with her Dora ball. But I suddenly suggested to Casey that how about we're having a picnic. It was a nice weather with peace and quiet environment, perfect to do it. We went back inside to get stuff we need for picnic. I prepared apple for us to eat in our picnic and water to drink. I put them in the basket and we’re ready for picnic. I told Casey to bring her tea set toys but she just want her leap pad and also blowing bubbles to play outside and that is fine with me what ever she would like to do, it's her day! We actually had fun, it was a great day for Casey and I.
