At Mike's apartment
Posted on January 8, 2007

My friends came over this morning and we decided to go to Rosie's home. We went outside and about get into Marie's car when we saw an envelope on Marie's windshield. We read it and it was a parking ticket. The ticket said she parked her car in a wrong way on the street. The fine is $35. And then we are off to visit our new friend Rosie at Huntington Square, Citrus Heights. When we got there, we ate pancit canton and steak with rice too...yum-o!

We had fun at Rosie's place. Maricel and I were enjoying looking of all of Mike's Indian artifacts collections. Here are the photos taken today

I am so happy that finally I received my SSN. I am not expecting that they will send it sooner than I thought. But I am thankful so, I can start looking for a part time job. Hopefully I can get something very soon.

My heart was overflowing of joy since yesterday. I received my permanent resident card today. This is what I am hoping for...I don't want to be deported...he he he, and now that I am green card holder I can able to file application for American Citizen...but I have to wait for this. I just want to enjoy first my Filipino citizenship. Thanks be to God for all of these.

At Marichu's house
Posted on January 20, 2007

I was invited to a birthday party for Marichu's son. He turned 9 last Saturday. I was having a second thoughts about going there because I still have lots to do in preparation for Casey's birthday the next day. But at the last minute, I told to my hubby that I am not going but my hubby wants me to go and attend the party so I can meet new friends, since we know that Marichu has Filipino friends that will be there also. And my husband teased me that he hid my cellphone so I cannot call Maricel and tell her that I am not going..lol, and then I decided to attend Marichu' son's birthday party. Marie & Maricel picked me up here at our home around 3pm and we went to Marichu's house.

We had a great time there...Marichu offered some vodka to me, I don't like the taste of vodka with pepsi in it so the second time she offered me vodka, she put in orange juice and it tastes better than with pepsi. But I still don't like it (he he) We did karaoke ..We really had fun singing, dancing, laughing, talking and eating.

The lechon is so delicious. The last time I had lechon was when Chris and I went to Stockton on Christmas eve 2005. Ok, here's the fun part, Marichu gave each of us beautiful bag...she is really nice! And now I have a new blue-green bag (Nine-west). Thank you Marichu! See ya soon! Here's the photos

The birthday girl Casey got a bunch of presents on her birthday. She got hide n squeak eggs, shopping cart, beautiful bath robe, baby travel set, Beautiful butterflies from a sparkle book, Itsy bitsy spider, books, 3 d View-master-pooh's heffalump movie, bear, puppy, Elmo etc., and she got a vacuum cleaner from her lola & pop pop! And hopefully Casey won't take the real vacuum if I am vacuuming the floor..)he he

I am glad that everyone enjoyed the food especially the bacon wrapped pineapple! And we are so happy that we celebrated Casey's 2nd birthday with friends and family, we thought of cancelling the party because Casey has cold and she was coughing, we don't want to share it to our friends' kids. She is fine but still has a cold. Casey enjoyed her 2nd birthday. Thank you for all the gifts ... and most of all thank you for being with us on Casey's 2nd birthday!

Casey's Dr. Appointment
Posted on January 24, 2007

Casey had her doctor appointment on 01/24/2007. She now weighs 24.12 lbs and her height is 33 inches. According to her doctor everything is perfect.

No more shots until Casey turns 4! And then after the doctor's appointment, we went back home and I told my husband to leave the car seat since one of my friends is going to pick us up.

My friend Marichu picked us up around 12:30 and we went to her house. She invited us to go to her house so we could do karaoke. We ate lechon paksiw and fried fish. And of course we did karaoke again and this time, no Vodka. Just soda (he he)

Transit bus, wanna ride?
Posted on January 30, 2007

Yesterday, my friend Maricel came over to my place around 11:15. I prepared our lunch. And we ate. Then we decided that we are going to go to the mall and take the bus. We went to Blairmore Apartments office first, to drop off the check. Then we walked to the bus stop on Coloma.

We had to wait for bus number 021. We were hesitant to ride the bus and at the same time we were excited because this was our first time riding the public bus. We also thought this would be more adventurous and more exciting! We had no idea if we have to bring a car seat for Casey. I didn’t read anything on their website about bringing a car seat and my husband didn’t think so either. But we just wanted to make sure that we are doing everything right. The transit stopped at 1:00 pm and we got to Sunrise Mall around 1:20pm.

A lot of stores that we went to, we went to Catwalk, JC Penney, Macy's, Rave, Cute Girl, etc… We went to JC Penney’s because Maricel had a gift card and she wanted to use it to buy shoes for her husband! We both started feeling hungry after a while. We had been looking around for MC Donald’s just so I can buy milk for Casey. I guess there's no Mc Donald’s inside Sunrise Mall, so we decided to go to Taco bell and have something to eat.

It was really a fun day for me...I can't really imagine that Maricel and I were able to go to mall without our other friends, that know how to drive...(ha ha), we just don't want to walk again 4 miles on a cold and windy day! We got home around 7pm, We missed the 5pm transit bus, so we had to wait for the 5:30pm. It was cold but I am glad I brought Casey her gloves and mine too, and our jackets...It was not really that bad. I enjoyed the bus ride...what a wonderful experience my daughter and I had yesterday. I really want to do it again. It’s fun to ride a bus and I can get to the places that I want to go to..lol, it was a priceless experience!

Happy Natal Day!
Posted on February 12, 2007

I am still up until 2am and my birthday boy was sound asleep. I've been thinking of ways to surprise my palangga, I get up from bed and I grab the marking pen and take 1 piece of paper from the printer and I wrote this " Happy birthday palangga, we love you so much!” and hang it on the fridge with magnet clip so my palangga can see it when he walks in the kitchen. And then went back to bed and finally sleep.

Casey and I get up around 7:30 and have chance to greet daddy before he leaves for the office. I spent time looking on the internet for nice e-card to send ....I'm here again, it really take me a long time to decide which e-card to send...lol there were two e-cards that I would like to send to Chris so I sent two e-cards that I like. And when I just finish sending the e-card, I found out that his parents e-cards is the same one that I sent to Chris...that's funny! We both thinking about plenty of gas! he he, I made chocolate cupcakes just so I can put a candle on it for Chris to blow, but then I decided to make a chocolate pie since chris loves chocolate pie and I try to make the crust from my mother in-laws recipe... I even made a phone call to Mom asking about how much flour to use. What interesting day for me today....I make a phone call to my mother in-law for the very first time. yehey! I did it!

Anyway, I finally made pie crust. Thank you Mom for the pie crust recipe. It turned out good except I make it a little thick. I am glad I made the chocolate pie and I put some candles on the pie for my palangga to blow out and make a wish...but before he did that, Casey and I sang "Happy birthday to our dear daddy! We've been practicing it few days, Happy Birthday and Casey really did a good job on singing happy birthday to her daddy. Casey and I have small gift for daddy and he is very happy with it. Thanks God for another year...more birthdays to come palangga!

Truck damage
Posted on February 21, 2007

This morning is not really a very good morning for us, As his usual routine, my hubby wakes me up and gives me a kiss before he leaves for work and says “bye" and then I glance at my daughter, she is still sleeping next to me. She sleeps with me sometimes after my hubby goes to work. Our daughter slept with us last night. Chris and I decided to let our baby sleep with us instead of her bed because she was crying and said her hand was hurting, We think she touched the lampshade that is in her room. We are not sure exactly what she did, but we are guessing that she touch the bulb. I was in our room with Chris, folding clothes and Chris getting ready for bed and I heard Casey is sobbing. I panicked and ran into Casey’s room. She was crying and telling me that lights' hot!

I went back to sleep after my hubby said goodbye, But then a few minutes later, my hubby wakes me up again. I am a little surprised he is still home! But he told me he has to stay home for a little while. He told me that someone throw a rock at the back window of our truck and it shattered. It isn't good to hear stuff like that when I’m still half asleep. I laid back down in bed, trying to sleep some more but I keep thinking about the truck. I finally got up, grabbed my jogging pants and sweater, then headed to the dining room where Chris was calling the police to report what happened to the truck and then called the insurance company.

I went back to the bedroom to check on Casey. Casey is awake now! I hold her and then we went outside to see the damage to the truck. It was nice and cold outside this morning. But the damage to the truck was not really very good to see. Kind of upsetting to see this in the morning. ESPECIALLY LIKE THIS!

I am sad to know and I can't imagine that there are a lot of people out here now a days that do strange things and like to damage peoples property. Actually this is not the first time something like this happened, someone broke the side mirror of our truck last year...oh well I guess this is part of life...As soon as the window was replaced, Chris headed to work.
