Archive for 2007 Fall is almost here The summer is almost over and fall is soon approaching! I love fall because it is the start of fresh air & cooler weather. The leaves are falling everywhere, and changing color! I enjoy watching the leaves that change and all the colors every fall. Anyway, I have nothing much to share. I’m just busy doing my normal routine as mother and wife. Anyway, I am trying to go to school and take the October class for Nurse Assistant –NA. But unfortunately, I couldn’t because the class was full. I can’t even get on the waitlist because they’ve reached the limit already. I was on the waitlist for the September class but I was late for the orientation and it is required to attend the class. So I can’t get in to the September class. Anyway, I’m still planning on going to the orientation for the October class and will see if someone changes their mind and drops the class. Then I can try to get in the class. I have to have a physical exam first as that is one of the requirements for NA class and it is in process! Hopefully everything will be done and ready before the orientation. I took exam at ARC a couple of weeks ago to meet their prerequisite and I was able to pass that test! All I need now, is to be able to get into the class…because the class was very full. If I can’t get in, I have to wait for the January class and that is fine with me. This will give me more time to think and to plan it accordingly. We don’t want to mess up Chris’ schedule at work and to my class schedules. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer because it’s almost time to say bye to summer and welcome to Fall! This is all for now...thanks for reading and God bless you all!
Ladies chow time
We had Filipina ladies get together yesterday at the Meyer's residence. The original plan, we'll just make ginataan & watch a few movies but we ended up cooking and forgot the movies...(LoL) you know Filipino loves to eat. As expected we have more than just ginataan on the table. We had dried fish (danggit) all the way from Cebu...so yummy! Winnie made her yum-o sinigang. The adobo is really good and of course the one & only Jassy ginataan...Thank you Shanna for your Almond torte, it was good too. A few photos can be seen at the photo gallery page.
Potluck-Mexican Theme
We just had our September potluck. I made barbecued chicken tortilla pizzas from Betty Crocker recipe. Chris and I really likes it! It's so simple and easy to make. Anyway, we had tons of food today. The group is really growing. There were 18 attended including the host and of course the kids. It's so nice to see everyone. We're glad Niah & her husband made it to this September potluck. We had fun and hope everyone had fun too. We hope to see you all again on the next potluck. View the photos from our potluck today.
Top 10 money drains I thought to share this on my website so, I copied it from the website of bankrate.com ,this is one of the websites I enjoyed to visit and read every morning. 1.

Way way out of line Can I check those diplomas again? Because I would just like to make sure that they are not from some med school in the Philippines.” (What an insult for the Filipino community especially to those that is in the medical field. The line is way out of line. I read this first thru PEP Philippine Entertainment Portal this morning. This is outrageous! If the lines were meant to be funny, I am absolutely not laughing... I never watch this show and will never try to watch this especially now!!) Read below... FilAm doctors fuming at ‘Desperate Housewives’ slur NEW YORK — “Can I check those
diplomas again? Because I would
just like to make sure that they
are not from some med school in
the Philippines.”
A day at the Fairytale town
I am glad
to have a chance to update our
website. I am not sure if I’ll
be able to update more often now
especially that my class will
soon start. I am excited and at
the same time I am scared
because this will be my first
time to be in the class
surrounded by primarily English
speaking people. I attended the
orientation a week ago. My first
concern was maybe the Professor
will speak very fast & I
wouldn’t able to understand all
the words but I was glad because
she spoke very clear and I can
understand every word she was
using.
Just note... Good Evening everyone! Oh boy, I'm getting busy as my class is approaching. I have everything ready for my class. I just got my textbook 3 days ago and I started reading and was enjoying it except the terminology was confusing to me. At least, after 2 days of reading, I did learn something, like, “agency purposes and types of health care agencies” that is the good part. I learned the roles do's and don’t as a nursing assistant. Studying about the key terms, terminology and health information. Those are really a challenge for me. Anyway, I put up our Christmas tree already last October 12th. I know this will be early for some here but In Philippines we can put up the Christmas tree as it reach the month of September. I know this is way too early for some people but I decided to put up our Christmas tree. My family back home, they already put up their Christmas tree first day of September. Chris was laughing at me because I started playing Christmas songs and I have the Christmas tree put up already. Oh well, I feel the spirit of Christmas already. At least Casey and I are happy...lol. Anyway, I searched online about when the Christmas tree should be put up? For some people they believe, after thanksgiving, for some people they believe12 days before Christmas is the time for putting up the Christmas tree, to some people they believe first day of December and for some is the night before thanksgiving the Christmas tree should be put up. But most people are after thanksgiving is a proper. But it is up to the family tradition. I'm glad I did put up the Christmas tree already because I'm not sure how busy I will be in the next few weeks, as I would like to focus on studying and learning the textbook I have. I know this is not easy....I am excited to learn to become CNA. I joined the CNA world group on the internet. This way I can get ideas and learn from their experiences. Thanks for reading. Wish me luck on this. Cheers! MABUHAY!
Whoa! Good morning everyone! I am back! It so nice to be home and relax. The picture was taken in the parking lot at the back of the Walnut-Whitney care center. We went there every Wednesday and Thursday and we have more 7 days to be in that facility. I am enjoying and learning new things everyday. Anyway, I finally remember to bring my camera yesterday. I took a few photos of my classmates.
We were off to Jelly belly Factory in Fairfield this morning with Aileen & Gail or should I say with the Mom's club. Casey had fun at the Jelly belly Factory and she was very excited with all the candies. The different colors excites her. We got a free tour and after the tour we got free candies and free picture with Santa and of course Santa gave Casey a candy! Obviously we had a great time. View photos from today. Have a good night everyone!
